The "9 straatjes" which translates into the "9 streets" is one of Amsterdam's most exclusive and prestigious areas. The luxury maisonette apartment is located in Reestraat which is bordered at each end respectively by the Prinsengracht and Keizersgracht canals and which is undoubtedly one of the most famous of the 9 streets.
The "9 streets" is one of the oldest areas of Amsterdam and in turn, forms part of Amsterdam's famous Jordaan district. Although only a few minutes walk from Dam Square and the Royal Palace, the area has a village-type of atmosphere and it boasts many of the cirty's finest art galleries, bars, boutiques, cafes, delicatessens, shops and restaurants. It is a veritable gourmet's and shopper's paradise.
Because of its picturesque surroundings, Reestraat has been often featured in major Dutch and international films. In May 2004, it was used as background for the new Hollywood blockbuster "Oceans 12" featuring a host of major stars including Brad Pitt, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Elliot Gould, George Clooney, Julia Roberts and Matt Damon.
In 2005, the maisonette has used both to accommodate crew and as a film location for Britain's Channel Four for the making of a documentary about New York-based Miss. Veronica Vera. In addition, our centralized luxury property was used to accommodate the touring film crew of Travelers Digest, the world's largest on-line travel & adventure company with more than 13 million monthly readers. Our business and property will be featured in their forthcoming global tourism promotions declaring Amsterdam as one of the absolute best European cities and tourist destinations!
The annual street party of the "9 Straatjes" is held every year in the Reestraat, the area's leading street, on 9th September (9th of the 9th).
